OR
1) Brush the excess stain off the surface of the fabric.
2) Rinse in cold water to dilute the stain.
3) Using a PLASTIC bucket, create a soak solution by adding 1/2 use (approx. 25 mls) Tide® per gallon of cold water. Allow the garment to soak for up to 30 minutes, weighting the item with a WHITE towel to keep it totally submerged.
4) Wash in warm water with 1 use of Tide.
5) If stain remains, repeat steps before drying. Before treating any garment, refer to the instructions on the care label. Always test solution on a hidden area first. If treating washable silk or wool, follow basic instructions, but hand wash.

I love Tide liquid Stain Release. I add a cap full of it right to the kids' clothing and in just one wash, all of the dingy kid grime comes right out of their clothing! No more washing stained clothes two and three times. Tide Stain Release really does get it out the first time!

I pretreat with Tide powder than add tide liquid to scrub the stain. Than I let the washing machine do the rest. The tide powder helps scrub out my garden grass stains. Its a wonderful trick.

Let it dry. Once dried brush off. Fill a small tub with water and Tide. Scrub the laundry detergent into the stain to remove it. If some remains give it time to soak then scrub again.

I find adding a pinch of baking soda to Tide powder and detergent mixture can remove any dirt/mud stain from those gardening jeans. Use a thick paper towel to rub the mixture onto your gardening jeans or cleaning linen pants. Works like a charm for me all the time.
